New Industry for Sunshine Clothing Factory Approved
An application by Mr DL McKinnon to set up a clothing factory on Suffock Road was granted at the latest Council meeting. The former bicycle factory premises were altered to include a dining room retiring room and all facilities and now meet Factory Department and Clothing Trades Union requirements. Dr Dobson opposed citing a prior Council rejection of land disposal for factories near the site while supporting the applicant’s aim.

Sunshine Court Hearing Sees Busy March Session
The monthly sitting of the Police Magistrate at the Sunshine Court on March 19 witnessed higher than usual business. Bench included PLM, Hill and J's, P, Bar Clay and McDonald. After smaller matters the court split with Justices in a side room while the Magistrate presided in the main hall.

Two Men Plead Guilty to Drunkenness Offences in Hampshire Road
Clifford Sidney Coulson on bail pleaded guilty to drunk and disorderly conduct at 2 50 pm on March 9 in Hampshire Road. Const Murphy testified. Coulson, first offence, was convicted and discharged. James Patrick Caulfield also on bail for a similar offence was found by Const Power on the footpath in Hampshire Road on March 18 at 4 30 pm in a drunken condition. He pleaded guilty and was convicted and discharged.

Russell Char ged With Hindering Police In Drunken Arrest
In a continuation of a prior drunk and disorderly case Phillip Russell faced a hindering a member of the Police Force charge. Constable Murphy testified Russell grabbed a drunken man’s coat and tried to remove him from arrest. The bench found Russell guilty and discharged him. Separate cases saw Micheal Vallance fined £6 for transporting sheep without a permit and Walter Lidgett arraigned for a similar permit breach after attempting to obtain one at Bacchus Marsh Police Station.
