Man Refuses To Move On In Hampshire Road

Constable W G Burke ordered a crowd of young men in Hampshire Road on February 20 to disperse. Eddy Black, 17 Benjamin Street, defied the warning saying he waited for someone and stood in the gutter. The Sunshine court found Black guilty and ordered a fine of 2 shillings or 12 hours in jail, if unpaid.

Grand United Lodge Funeral for Bro Ibert Napier

A large number of Grand United Lodge members attended the funeral for the late Bro Ibert Napier. The casket was carried to the graveside by fellow members with the lodge burial service read. The lodge plans lectures on various topics, including Antarctic exploration, with dates to be announced.

Constable J C Webb of Foot Yeray charged Frederick Harewood of 56 Adelaide Street Sunshine with riding an unlighted bicycle on Anderson Road February 18 and received a ten shilling fine or six hours in jail. Paul Zimmerman of 3 Charles Street Footscray was fined twenty shillings or twelve hours in default after being charged with driving a motor car on the wrong side and cutting a traffic button.
