Short Turn Encounters and Comic Misunderstandings at the Station
An eight year absence ends as John returns to his birth town station. He greets an old porter, but the porter misreads the moment with a teasing remark about marriage. Various humorous snippets follow: a father’s quip from a boy, a young lady shopping for cigarettes, a student’s handwriting critique, a mechanic’s joke about fixing a bent mudguard, a proud father’s reaction to a child, and a schoolmaster’s joke about the Queen of Sheba and Solomon.
