A reflective note compares 1857 to 1934, arguing fears over future prosperit y persist but history shows cautious optimism. It urges courage and effort, claiming business should improve and Australia advances toward prosperity with a straightforward path ahead.
A juvenile night at the Masonic Hall featured a varied program including a ticket by Minky Willaton and Mrs. Mounsey, a duet by Willaton and Ray Mounsey, and Mr Walsh the “Prince of music” delighting the children. Mrs. Ralf comedian and other acts closed with a party, thanking volunteers and presenting a crystal sugar bowl as a token of appreciation.
The club held a December 16 rifle shooting at Williamstown with ten sents present and a close match. A. K. Dumbrell led with 103 points, followed by J. Boehm, a new member, as runners up. H. S. Dumbrell earned the only possible score while A. E. Dumbrell contributed to the tight competition.

Bridesmaid Allen Self and best man E McIntyre attend. Reception at the McIntyre home. The couple plan to reside in St Albans. Irene McKilpatrick of Boundary Road St Albans wed Walter McKenzy of Perry Street Footscray at Our Lady's Catholic Church Sunshine. Bride wore pink and blue gown, bridesmaid Maggie Munro of Braybrook wore pink lace. Tea afterwards at Francatelli Colins Street for relatives.
Local residents faced a subdued holiday season with many away in warmer climes. New Year’s Eve brought scant activity, save for McKay’s clock chiming at midnight. Community notes detail residents at Mornington, Mt Dandenong, Wandin, and Hoxebur, with Sunshine groups aiding the needy and plans for a January beach picnic.
Sunshine batted first and scored 111 with Patt making 43 and Taylor 28. Ivanhoe replied with Ou out for 0 as Patten took 4/16 and McGrath 1/44. Sunshine won by 12 runs on the first innings.
