Obituary: Edward Calnan 79 a Sunshine resident
On Saturday, at his residence 29 Ridley Street, Edward Calnan aged 79 passed away. He was the husband of Lucinda Calnan and father of Ruby, Alberta, Irene, Talbot, Vera, Charles, Iris, Aileen, Bernard, and Clare. The funeral was held Monday with interment at Footscray Cemetery.

St Albans School Concert and Speech Night Highlights
The State School Orchestral Association hosted an inaugural concert at Melbourne Town Hall with St. Albans pupils Shirley Bedford Beryl King Betty O Hare Hetty Gilham and Des Hutson on violins under Tasher. A 250 child orchestral display impressed. The Keilor Shire President Cr Hilbert and MLA H O White attended school prizes.

Our Lady's School Concert Impresses Parish Hall Audience
Our Lady s School presented its annual concert in the Parish Hall on Tuesday evening December 19. The program opened with a two part song Whis pering Hope by senior pupils followed by free arm exercises by both senior and junior students. A comic dialogue The Black Doctor was performed by Ivan Rice Donald Byrne and Norman Le Sueur. The second half featured the operetta The Gift with Mozart as the theme complete with period dancing and colored stage lighting.
