Ferguson applies for woodyard at Walmer Avenue St Albans

J Ferguson sought council approval to establish a woodyard on land in Walmer Avenue St Albans stating no use of a circular saw. On Dr Jolly’s motion the Keilor Council granted the application at Saturday’s meeting in January.

Keilor Council approves annual receipts and expenditure plan

At the recent Keilor Council meeting the estimate of receipts and expenditure for the year starting October 1 was adopted. The proposed works require 13 077 8 4 pounds, with 2 4 4 8 9 already available. A further 7 1 9 1 1 0 pounds will be raised by a rate on the pound, to be collected by Shire Secretary N A Woods. Rates are due Friday January 10.

Late Trains at Sydenham Cause Council Request

Dr. Jolly told Keilor Council that Sydenham trains ran 20 to 25 minutes late, inconveniencing residents commuting to work. A motor train passes through without stopping. Council resolved to ask Railway Commissioners to have the motor train stop at Sydenham to serve passengers to the city.
