Abstract of accounts for the Shire of Braybrook year ended 30 September 1948. General Fund shows expenditures in administration loans interest and redemption public works and services grants and contributions other expenses trust accounts and miscellaneous items. Liabilities include motor omnibus act grant reserves special improvement fund contractors deposits rates recovery and sundry creditors with balances carried forward.
The Sunshine Golf Club held a well attended gymkhana at the links on Saturday with a barbecued evening. Mixed Canadian Foursomes saw Mrs A Grant and E Wilson win with a strong 0 nett. various results ensued in Sunday stroke events with multiple prize donors and a Christmas Social announced for December 11 at the club house.
Bus leaves station at 1 p.m. sharp. Names under consideration include Craddock McIntyre Wood Dakin Spencer Fraser Dobson Scobie Payne Wardle Simpson Bartlett and others.
East Sunshine C C A team faces O R at Gardens Reserve with a large squad listed plus 12th man Webster. B Section hosts Albion at home with all players due at ground 145 pm and 12th man Crockett. Christmas Break Up at the new reserve hall invites members to enjoy fun and games and a plate.
In the past month anglers journeyed to Pike's for trout though numbers fell. J Moiler led with 3 trout weighing 3 lbs, B Craddock topped 4 trout 5 lbs and 3 perch 12 ozs but lost on handicap. R Masson won with 8 trout 10 lbs 5 ozs and 3 perch 15 ozs, totaling 28 lbs 13 oz from 23 trout and 9 perch. Next weekend a Bay Trip is planned. For details contact W Pummeroy.
Acting on a recommendation from the Shire Secretary Braybrook Connell decided to seal cement for the council at its quarry Duke Street. A deferment of 14 days was granted to Dobson while an investigation examined the quality of the material for repairs and other aspects of the agreement.
Church of England notices list services at St Mark's Sunshine and St Albans with morning and evening worship and Mr Shilton and Mr Richards mentioned. St Johns Deer Park also lists 7 pm Evensong conducted by Mr Shilton and Mr Richards.
Reverend E Hi presides at a morning service and Sunday School at Ptist Church with a 7 p.m. Divine Worship and a Junior Choir Carol presentation. Presbyterian Sunshine offers Sunday School at 10:30 a.m. 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. with Rev. F. Sadler at St. Albans for evening worship and Communion.
