Cow Runs Amok As Council Workers Flee
Yesterday a frightened cow escaped from a herd in Braybrookshire town and charged council employees. William Wynham was tossed into a five foot storm water pit while others fled to safety. Inspector Thorpe arrived with A J Rayner and Pennells workers fired at the animal. the cow was killed after striking a motor truck. No children were nearby, officials said.

Mrs Mary Stuart Scott, 34, wife of Alex Scott of 100 Durham Road Sunshine, died after a short illness at St Vincent's Hospital on Tuesday. She had lived in Sunshine two years and left two sons Ron and Bryan. Funeral arrangements were by R B Penn, 104 Durham Road, Sunshine.

Local Residents in Motor Accident Near Fawkner
Mr E Hocking of King Edward Avenue with his two sons and Mr Les Brown of Sunshine were driving from Talara to Melbourne on Saturday night when their car collided with an oncoming vehicle between Fawkner and Campbellfield. Hocking’s car overturned, occupants suffered facial and body lacerations. Brown was struck when he sought the other driver’s details and the other car drove away.

Water plea set for St Albans Keilor councils
