Relief Efforts Underway as Floods Strike St Albans
Torrential rains caused localized flooding in St Albans with roads near waterlogged and some damage to hay harvests. Drainage improvements near the station aided by large culverts, while a smaller culvert failed to cope with the flow. Community events include Church of England services, a hall concert fundraiser, and a Presbyterian social. Local schools hosted Mother’s Club visits, with pupils assisting in afternoon tea displays and a gift arrangement for charity.
