Council faces union demand for a 20 shillings per week raise with retroactive effect from December 1. Dr Dobson proposed approving the increase, while Dr Pennell's motion to defer to the Municipal Association prevailed. Dobson argued for redesigning the wage scale to meet worker concerns.
Shire Engineer Mr. H. Robinson spoke on Gertrude Street Devonshire Road drainage, noting little could be done until the Stony Creek diversion on Anderson Road is finished. Tenders for the scheme were expected early in the New Year as part of a broader public works discussion.

Lorraine Bourke and other attendants wore turquoise and mauve outfits. reception followed at Masente Tint Sunshine. A second wedding of Lorraine Bourke to Benjamin Ritchie also occurred the same day at the same church with a matching wedding party and reception at Bretby Sunshine.
