St Mark Harriers Crown 1950 Cross Country Champs
The 1950 cross country season closed with 4 mile junior and 5 mile senior races. L Coulgon won the junior title with 26 minutes 3 seconds, outrunning W Jones and G Coulson. J Cairns won the sealed handicap, while M Petherick retires from club championships to assist younger runners. The team concluded with afternoon tea at the Sunshine Potteries, thanks to Mr Drayton.

Harvesters Rifle Club Results at Williamstown Range
The Harvester Rifle Club posted results from a shoot at the Williamstown Rifle Range on August 19 over 900 yards. Top scores included A Gillespie 44 L Zerbst 30 J Callaness 38 B Cole 36 B Walker 5 J Polan 35. Next Saturday August 26 a 700 yard Penant teams shoot starts at 1.45 pm.

Sunshine defeated Port Melbourne 12 to 0 in the final game of the season. Shine led with a heavy first inning rally and continued scoring through the seventh, while Port Melbourne failed to score. Seconds beat Port Melbourne as well, with Sunshine's strong batting and base running contributing to a successful conclusion. Junior social evening announced for August 29 at 6:30 pm at the club rooms and Sunshine Picture Theatre.
