No developments have yet occurred on the Water Scheme. News is expected after the Keilor Council meeting on Saturday and likely to be the main topic at the Progress Association monthly meeting on Tuesday. The prior article under this heading was summarized in last week’s issue.
The Progress Association will hold a progress meeting at the Mechanics Institute with residents invited. A request for a school masters residence in St Albans was denied due to funding. The St Albans Tennis Club holds its annual meeting next Monday August 8 in the pavilion. The Mother's Club hosts Euchre parties at the Mechanics Institute and St Albans Hall on Wednesdays and Saturdays, with August bazaars and ongoing weekly events. There is no opposition to Dr Dickson in municipal elections, and the retiring councillor is likely to have a walk over.
The second round concluded with eight players set to contest the A Grade championship. B Grade entrants include all non qualifiers, with Leo Horne sponsoring the trophy. The draw lists matches for A Grade and B Grade including Miss Johnston, Mrs Morris, Messrs Dinnell and Willaton among others.

An evening at the Bowling Club pavilion featured President W J Andrew presenting the bust season trophies. Awards included Championship Mrs Stewart President's Trophy rink by Mesdames Forbes Moran Guy Clarke Lady President's Trophy Mrs McWhirter. Miss Parry Mrs Park won novices and news trophies. Men’s section champions Mr A T Perry. President’s Trophy Mr L Roberts. Vice-president’s Trophy Mr W Inson. Pairs Trophy Messrs H Thompson and W Mackay.
