On Tuesday evening August 16 at 8 p m the Sunshine Presbyterian Ladies Guild hosts a reception in the Church Hall. A travel talk by Mrs Bosher, recently back from a six month abroad tour, is featured with musical items. Subscriptions are 1shilling with 8 pence extra for supper.
The Evening Service speaker will be Rev. A. Higgs, Tassie delegate to the World Endeavour Convention. Morning Service will be assisted by Mr. J. Thomson who is en route for China.
Mr. Danns B. Fisher of Brunswick and Miss Dulcie M. Leman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Coleman, wed at Sunshine Presbyterian Church on a Saturday. The ceremony featured family attendants and flowers, with Rev. W. Evans officiating and a modest home gathering to follow.
Deer Park residents are invited to a hymn singing after Sunday service at the home of Mr and Mrs Arbuthnot. All invited.
News of the marriage of J Q Ossie Beynon, son of Sunshine residents, to Eleanor Henderson of Waterloo Ontario Canada arrives by letter. Beynon, a high executive at Sunshine Waterloo Company, helped establish the plant in Waterloo eight years ago and was promoted. The bride’s father, a Scottish settler, served four terms as mayor. The wedding and breakfast at Forest Hill Gardens featured a tr pomp, with a procession of trucks, pipers, and a plant recreation club orchestra through Sunshine.
On Saturday at 6 65 p.m. Miss Mary Carrick daughter of Mr and Mrs C C Carrick of Drummartin Street will marry Mr David William Caithness of Freser Street Sumbine in Sunshine Presbyterian Church.
