Braybrook Council revisited a 20 year dispute over skin drying as a noxious trade. Wilcox Mofflin Ltd sought to erect a skin store and factory in Cranwell Street, but the motion to grant permission failed amid opposition from Drs Dobson Barclay Hayden McDonald and others.

Visit of Public Instruction Minister Lunches at Sunshine
The Hon. F. Field M L A accompanied by A E Shepherd M L A G A Osborne Chief Inspector of Primary Schools and A R Ashton Inspector of Schools was entertained at lunch today in the Sunshine Technical School dining room. Guests included Dr A G Pennell Shire President Dr A Barrett Mayor of Footscray and others. The Minister also visited State college in the Sunshine electorate.
Visit of Baptist President to Sunshine Church
The Rev. John Curtis president of the Baptist Union of Victoria will visit Sunshine Church and occupy the pulpit at the evening service next Sunday August. A former pastor in his college days he is well known in the community and visiting friends may hear and meet Curtis.

Mrs Caroline Thorpe Dies at 70 in Sun Shine
Caroline Charlotte Thorpe aged 70 died at 4 Rawson Ave Sun Shine on July 26. She was born in Clunes and is survived by two married daughters and a son. her husband and another son predeceased her. Funeral from her residence followed by interment at Footscray Cemetery. Rev R F Adams officiated. Nelson Bros. arranged the funeral.

Mr Max Bromson of 4 Hampshire Crescent Sunshine died July 29 at Sunshine Community Hospital. A WWI sergeant, he leaves a widow and grown family. At Sunshine Court hearings on Friday July 26 Charles Perkins of Sunshine and Stanley Arthur Brown of Toorak were fined 2 and 3 pounds respectively for offensive behavior at a July 12 dance in Shire Hall. First Constable Di lower reported the fight. In Brawlin Street Lawrence Harbottle was fined 5 pounds in default 14 days for striking at a Hamp shire street confrontation.
