Pram Bus Plea With Tramways Board Gains Partial Concession

Dr A E Shephard M L A urged earlier start for pram bus service from Footscray Station to the Metropolitan Hospitals. The Board said Sunshine expansion not feasible but may permit carriage of children's carriages on ordinary buses with individual permits. The concession also extends to Moonee Ponds. permits required on resumption of bus operations.

Street Names To Perpetuate Old Residents In Maidstone

Provisional names for new Maidstone housing streets have been selected for Housing Commission confirmation. In Greenham Coleman Irving Streets three old residents are memorialized, with western streets named Peskin Barton Scullin Curtin and the main avenue Churchill Avenue. Annexation Talks End With No Braybrook Move

The Shire President Dr A G Pennell and Sunshine Red Cross urge Ki lor residents to donate warm clothing and foodstuffs for Britain now. A house to house collection will be held on Saturday April 1. Volunteers will transport goods to city depots for overseas dispatch via the Australian Red Cross Society to the British Red Cross Society. Clothing must be new or cleaned, packed separately from food and in sound containers. no hats shoes or evening wear.
