Heat Wave Nears End As Weatherman Notes No Crop Threat
The heat wave, close to a June record, likely ends tomorrow. State Climatologist Robert Weedfall says soil and crops face no risk due to last month’s heavy rains. Temperatures reached 93, just shy of the 96 high set in June 1952, with two weeks of heat needed before soil becomes dangerously dry. Humidity and fogs hinder farming tasks as a cold front from the Midwest approaches tomorrow.
