Westmoreland: Quick Viet Victory Unrealistic Says
Gen William Westmoreland said it was unrealistic to expect a quick allied victory in Vietnam. He noted South Vietnamese forces could share more of the load by late 1969 while U S troop strength remained large and fighting continued. He spoke at his farewell news conference before becoming Army Chief of Staff.
