General Paving to start three resurfacing projects on U S 50, Rt 24 and Rt 72. Routine maintenance includes grass cutting stone laying and shoulder repairs.
Bruceton Brandonville Volunteer Fire Department hosts Good Neighbor Days a four day event ending today with Herbert Gibson predicting a record financial take around four thousand dollars from carnival rides and concessions. The VFD relies on this sale along with a September horse show and rental income from two apartments converted from a former elementary school. A planned fall renovation to the fire hall may consume most of the proceeds. The department owns its carnival equipment improving returns and keeping money in town. A Bike Rodeo will be held Monday at 2 p m at Brookhaven Playground with a State Police representative to discuss cycling safety and laws. In case of rain the event will be rescheduled.
