Education And Our State Constitution In Morgantown
Dr. Stanley Ikenberry urged five steps to lift West Virginia education, including constitutional study to remove impediments and ending tax limits for school funding. He pressed revising school finance, boosting early childhood tests, strengthening the state education department, expanding teacher training, and sharply increasing public education investment. He noted WV lagged national per pupil spending and teacher salaries, urging citizen priority and performance. County events will feature talks on the State Constitution at 4-H Camp and a Jackson's Mill human relations workshop with school leaders participating.
