Nixon Plans Full Policy Posts Fill Ahead of Inauguration
President-elect Richard Nixon aims to have all major policy positions filled by January 20. Personnel chief Harry Flemming says the effort seeks to avoid White House staffing burdens, with about 2,000 policy jobs paid 20 to 28 thousand dollars and 300 higher echelon posts up to 35 thousand dollars. Flemming actively recruits, sending 70,000 letters to prominent figures soliciting recommendations.

Three Die In West Virginia Traffic Accidents
United Press International reports the long holiday weekend in West Virginia saw at least three deaths. Daniel Adams 26 of Chapmanville died after his car plunged an embankment in Lincoln County. Opal Workman 44 of Chapmanville in critical condition was a passenger. William Stevenson 18 died in a motorcycle crash Thanksgiving night in Morgantown. John Rader 53 died in a two car crash near Parkersburg at the start of the holiday period Wednesday night.
