In Cap Haitien Haiti Marines on an evening patrol battled armed men outside a police station killing nine Haitians. A Marine and a Haitian interpreter were wounded. Marines attempted to coax two wounded men from the station as dawn approached, while elsewhere in Haiti large pro democracy protests redoubled pressure on the toppled government.
