Community colleges may share courses to cut duplication
A five member staff team from the state Board of Community Colleges outlined a plan to reduce duplicate classes and programs across NC colleges. The 13 of 20 members at the New Bern meeting discussed sharing faculty and equipment, citing a Wilson area nursing program as a model. The board planned to vote on the 1995 97 expansion budget and the $1.9 million child care appropriation and wrap up noon today.

Post office to stay at Hobucken until next year

Church of God salvage yard sparks city suit in New Bern
Neighbors complained of a junkyard on church property at 2815 Oaks Road in a residential zone. The city of New Bern filed a civil suit Sept. 8 against the Church of God of Prophecy and member Robert G. Boles, seeking removal of the yard and potential fines and cleanup costs. The church has 30 days to respond, with possible penalties up to $50 daily since June 14 and possible environmental review for wetlands and Benny's Creek.
