Taurance Williams A pillar of New Bern's youth and sports
Taurance Williams grew up in New Bern and built a 25 year career shaping youth through city athletics and aquatics. A former New Bern High School athlete, he coached at Grover C. Fields Middle School and now oversees city youth sports while running the Aquatics Center. He led by example, adopting many local youths, guiding them away from trouble and into sports, and helping during Hurricane Florence. He remains active with Kappa Alpha Psi, St. Peter's AME Zion Church, and community events, always ready to help kids and neighbors.
