NAS BLA approved boating education required for new boaters on NC waters. A free course at Neuse Sport Shop Cedar Point Sept. 15 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Registration online at ncewildlife.org. DMF closes recreational and commercial southern flounder seasons on Sept. 4. commercial season reopens Sept. 15 north of Pamlico Sound and Oct. 1 elsewhere.
