Endgame plan in a three no trump bridge problem
Phillip Alder discusses a magazine single dummy puzzle in which West leads heart six and East plays jack. If hearts split 6-2 you duck first tricks then pursue a squeeze. assuming win, use dummy’s top clubs to drop the queen for eleven tricks, or switch to spades first if they split 3-3 to reach nine tops. If spades fail, clubs from the top may yield two club winners. Watch entries like an eagle.
