New Village Brewery Joins Oriental Craft Scene
Lili and Frank Craft moved to Oriental in 2012 and opened The New Village Brewery in a Broad Street historic house. They funded brewing gear via GoFundMe, brew 4–5 taps weekly with guest beers, and won Carolina Brew Scene’s Best Beer in NC 2019 for Lili's Breakfast Stout. The taproom hosts monthly charity fundraisers, food trucks, and a mix of locals from infants to seniors. The couple aims to expand production while keeping a small, community focused operation. They brew with a local yeast strain and emphasize slow fermentation for flavor, welcoming all neighbors to share in the town’s growing beer culture.
