Harlowe man gets 10 years for stabbing death
Lonnie D. Nolan of Harlowe was sentenced to 10 years in Craven County Superior Court after pleading guilty to voluntary manslaughter in the Aug. 1, 2010 stabbing death of Steven Devon Berry at a Harlowe nightclub. Berry died en route to the hospital after a struggle in the Whispers parking lot.

Housing Authority Board Lines Up Legal Review
The City Board of Aldermen may set board size and is reviewing authority compliance after a sixth member was appointed by a former executive director to address residency by housing project residents. A joint statement from chair Ethel Sampson and vice-chair Richard Peeler said a legal review will determine proper composition and keep all parties informed, with no immediate removals.
