Nestor forecast to drop heavy rain on eastern North Carolina
Tropical Storm Nestor will bring heavy rainfall to inland areas of eastern North Carolina this weekend. Meteorologist Chris Collins with the National Weather Service in Newport says ENC could see 2-3 inches of rain with higher amounts possible and potential flooding as ditches fill from earlier rain. Coastal flooding is more likely in the Outer Banks than in Onslow Craven and Lenoir counties due to wind direction and rising water.
