River-loving student Kelly Hooker pursues environmental science path
Kelly Hooker of Goose Creek began college in 1985 through PCC ECU contract program as part of Pamlico Community College's first class. At 16 she earned a GED and enrolled in algebra history psychology and English. Her poetry on the river appeared in The Pamlicoan. She now aims to join PCC's environmental science technology program and become a research assistant with Marine Fisheries before earning a bachelor’s in estuarine biology at UNC Wilmington.
