Fair taxes loom over Craven County Jaycees fair site
Mickey Tillman said the fair and Craven County Jaycees expect to settle delinquent taxes after the 2010 filing tied to a 32.16 acre tract along U S 70 East in New Bern valued at 2.16 million. The process follows wage garnishments and notices with the fair proceeding despite debt concerns and vandalism. The Jaycees, a nonprofit civic group, anticipate paying after this year’s agricultural fair, which runs through Oct 22.
