Carthene Wilson Gurkin, 89, of Vanceboro died November 12 2020. A memorial service is set for Saturday at 1 30 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Chapel in Vanceboro. She worked at McDaniel and Bern Village rest homes in New Bern and was a Covenant Church member in Greenville. She is survived by daughter Dottie Voerman and husband Tom Stone, grandson William Hinton Gurkin IV, fiancé Nicole Sloan, granddaughters Catherine Bayliss Addi son Voerman Allyson Eubanks Sarah Eubanks, and daughter in law Anne Eubanks and husband John.
