Craven County Sheriff's Office released names of those arrested for drug offenses. Kevin Ray Strickland, 40, of Gangplank Road New Bern, charged with felony possession of heroin. Travis Mullins, 21, of Webb Boulevard Have lock, charged with possession of a Schedule VI substance and driving with license revoked. Curtis Cahoon, 54, of Crystal Lake Drive Havelock, charged with drug paraphernalia possession and larceny. Alton Sandlin, 54, Tilton Street Havelock, charged with drug paraphernalia possession and larceny. Melissa Gladson, 43, Streets Ferry Road Vanceboro, charged paraphernalia.

Veterans honored at Craven County luncheon in New Bern
Hundreds of Craven County veterans gathered at Temple Baptist Church for the annual Craven County Veterans Council free luncheon. Rick Miller was named 2019 Veteran of the Year and James Hunter received the Lifetime Achievement award. Miller, a Navy veteran from Olney Maryland, served 1965 to 1968 with a Vietnam tour.
