Pearl Harbor survivor speaks at University of Mount Olive

J L Wilson, a 99 year old Pearl Harbor survivor, told history students and community members at the University of Mount Olive about December 7, 1941. He described serving aboard the USS Dale at Pearl Harbor and recalled radar sighting that warned of an attack later dismissed by leadership.

New Bern Man Sentenced After Guilty Plea To Heroin Trafficking

Donald Cox Jr., 31, faces 70 to 93 months in prison after pleading guilty to trafficking heroin by possession and transportation. CNET had identified him as a dealer in New Bern and Havelock. Police found 2.64 grams of cocaine and 11.49 grams of heroin during a body search after he set up a deal. He also faced a $50,000 fine and $4,600 in costs.
