Threats Made Against Havelock High School Investigated
Sun Journal reports on March 17 2019 Havelock investigators and the school Resource Officer probing a threat against Havelock High School. Jason Gibbs Jr 18 of Havelock was arrested on a felony count of communicating a threat of mass violence on educational property and held on a 50000 secured bond after a March 18 appearance in Craven County Court.

Chancellor Cecil Staton to resign as ECU leader

A memorial for Adam Snyder, 46, longtime Atlantic Beach Fire Chief, drew about 800 people at Crystal Coast Civic Center Morehead City.
