Thomas Alston Chapman known as Tom, 72, of Trent Woods died June 23 2019. Born in Staunton VA he played high school football at Westminster Atlanta and college football at Georgia Tech. He built a 35 year insurance career in Atlanta before retiring to New Bern with wife Wendy. He volunteered with Colonial Capital Humane Society and enjoyed Carolina shag dancing and working at The Village Butcher. Survived by wife Wendy son Tom II and daughter Eleanor Malcom with grandchildren and other relatives. Visitation June 27 2019 at The Jarvis 220 Event Venue and Bed Breakfast. Funeral June 28 2019 at Garber United Methodist Church. Memorials to Colonial Capital Humane Society or Garber UMC. Arrangements Cotten Funeral Home & Crematory.
