Jamee Harris of New Bern Shapes Community Voice
Jamee Harris an alderwoman and community advocate in New Bern champions residents lacking representation. A New Yorker by birth, she moved to New Bern in 2010, later becoming Ward 2’s youngest African American elected official and cofounding Eastern North Carolina’s Young Urban Professionals. She led hurricane relief efforts, oversees a $125 million budget, and promotes autism awareness, voting, and minority business development through YUP and local partnerships.
