Betrayal of Aldrich Ames explored by Weiner group

The book argues the CIA produced a flawed portrait of itself as it details Aldrich Ames, a spy who harmed US intelligence. It notes missed warnings, slow suspicions, and internal failures that allowed Ames to operate for years before a 1994 arrest. The account highlights the KGB meetings, undiscovered deposits, and a lapse in CIA and FBI cooperation.

Uris fails to match Trinity in Redemption review

Leon Uris, famed for Trinity, returns with Redemption. The novel follows Rory Larkin, nephew of Conor Larkin, as he traverses New Zealand and Ireland during World War I. The Gallipoli sections show strong historical writing, but dialogue and character depth lag, with too much focus on sex and sanctifying Conor.
