Woman Bitten Survivor Escapes Attempted Rapist
A 22 year old Jacksonville woman thwarted a rape attack near First Citizens Bank on Western Boulevard. Police say she was abducted at about 2 55 a m and dragged into a wooded area but managed to bite her attacker and flee after the man began removing her clothes.

Richard Thomas French 18 of 215 Tuscarora-Rhems Rd Craven County died when a canoe with a Dover man and Wasilla woman capsized on Fire Lake near Anchorage early Saturday. Michael Polyefko 35 rescued the others. French went under in about eight feet of water and was found later.
