House panel rejects plan on intangibles tax in NC
The North Carolina House Finance Committee rejected Rep. George Miller's bill to cut the intangibles tax and exempt about 58 000 people and 13 000 corporations. Aimed at a repeal or reduction, the measure drew claims it would confuse the issue. Miller could reconvene a meeting before the scheduled adjournment, as lawmakers rush toward a year end.
