Neighbors of accused face charges in murder case

Three neighbors of a man charged with murdering a retired Havelock resident were charged with accessory after the fact of a felony. One helped move a body and two dug the grave while two more are accused of breaking into the murderer’s mobile home. Bond amounts range from 30,000 to 100,000. They were arrested late at night and faced questions about withheld information.

Navy jet diversion tops BRAC list for Cherry Point

From Mogadishu Somalia the world Marines and Italian troops reinforced and consolidated holds at the air and sea ports as 900 Bangladeshi UN peacekeepers sailed home leaving 1500 Pakistani peacekeepers to be evacuated by a U.S. led force. Nation GOP bids to alter balanced budget plan

Republicans push a revised balanced budget amendment offering language to limit courts from enforcing the measure by barring tax increases or spending cuts. Sen. Larry Craig notes potential support from Sen. Sam Nunn as they seek needed votes for tonight’s roll call.
