Stunt Pilot Hubie Tolson Recalls Flight Path at EC Aviation Dinner
New Bern resident Hubie Tolson told the Eastern Carolina Aviation Heritage Foundation dinner his life story in an interview with retired Major General Tom Braaten and Lt. Col. Barry Fetzer. He described a teenage dare, a loop that changed him, his mother becoming the area’s first licensed woman pilot, washing planes for lessons, soloing in December 1974, and buying a first underpowered fabric-covered airplane amid reflection on his own “stupidity.”
