Caroline Miller 89 of New Bern died Monday at Twin Rivers Nursing Home. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at Cotten Funeral Home chapel. Private interment will follow at Christ Episcopal Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1-2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Craven Community College art department.

Simpson evidence returns to courtroom
After a weekend of inspection by O J Simpson's scientific experts in New York evidence in the murder trial returns to the courtroom. Prosecutors showed a black leather glove found near the bodies of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman and identified it as part of the evidence. Detective Tom Lange testified that the glove and a knit cap were found near the crime scene early on June 13.
