Jones County to receive $430000 broadband grant
At a Thursday launching ceremony on the Jones County Courthouse lawn East ern Carolina Broadband and officials announced a plan to bring high speed internet to about 700 locations including homes and businesses in Jones County. Wes King said the county would gain 270000 in grant funds plus matching dollars to total 430000 for the project. Jeff Sural noted the GREAT Grant program began as a 10 million state pilot in 2019.

US advises no travel to China over fast spreading virus
The United States urged all travel from China as a novel virus surged tenfold in a week with 213 deaths among 9,692 confirmed cases.
