In a holiday basketball tournament clash, the Havelock Bears defeated West Craven to secure third place. Both teams showcased solid offense and defense, with key performances boosting the Bears to the podium.
A candlelit, child sparked blaze in a century-old Bronx building near the zoo left a stairwell as a chimney. Fire officials cited 12 deaths and numerous hospitalizations as residents fled cold night smoke in a rapid five story fire. The Washington Post blind biscuit test rated Bojangles biscuits near the bottom among fast-food rivals, criticizing texture and taste while McDonald's topped the panel. Bojangles supporters and a Tands Inc spokesperson disputed the test’s served items and results.
