Diplomat Seeks Release As North Korea Talks Go Poorly
U S diplomat Thomas Hubbard pressed North Korea today to secure the release of captured Army pilot Bobby Hall after a Dec 17 helicopter crash. Rep Lee Hamilton said talks were not satisfactory, suggesting military talks may follow. Hall and fellow pilot David Hibman died. Hibman’s body was returned last week. North Korea accused Hall of spying and demanded an apology, while U N officials say Hall’s helicopter was on an unarmed training mission.
