Diane Stephens of Support Military Spouses leads a charity drive at Jacksonville Commons Recreation Center and Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point. A Vanceboro man Nika J. Smith 41 was struck and killed while walking along a road outside Vanceboro Wednesday evening. The driver faces pending charges per the North Carolina Highway Patrol. The incident left one other person injured and under investigation.
