Blind tarpon angler tags three on Neuse River trip
Greg Willis, 33, a New Bern native now living in Windsor Virginia, blind since a diabetes related loss two years ago, tagged three tarpon on a Neuse River and Pamlico Sound excursion. He finished each catch in about 20 minutes on his uncle Owen Lupton’s boat, aided by Willie Brite, with North Carolina Sea Grant tagging. Willis, an ex EMT instructor, aims to fly fish for a tarpon and hopes his experience inspires others with visual impairment.
