Search for missing pilot widens as CAP planes scour NC woods
Hickory reports continued search for 72 year old Warren Armstrong of Tucson Arizona in a Cessna Centurion missing since last week. CAP planes and ground crews comb woodlands and nearby Blue Ridge Parkway areas while officials plan to resume with more aircraft and personnel. Armstrong reportedly logged over 20000 flight hours and did not file a flight plan after leaving College Park Maryland on August 8. The patrol suspects he may have landed in Washington DC or Roanoke Virginia before continuing toward New Orleans.
