City woman dies from Monday crash injuries
Shauna Weatherly Cooper, 45, of 106 Vida Lane died Saturday at Pitt Memorial Hospital. The collision occurred two miles north of Vanceboro on NC 43 when a Greensboro man attempting a pass in the northbound lane failed to see Cooper’s southbound car. Four others were hospitalized, Cooper’s 16-year-old daughter was slightly hurt. Cooper’s car went 72 feet into a ditch after striking at 55 mph. the other car stopped in the southbound lane after 77 feet. Damages were about 13000 dollars. The driver was cited for improper passing left of center and safe movement violations.
