Lawsuits allege diocese knew priests were predators
Two men sue the Diocese of Charlotte claiming the church knew or should have known certain priests were predators. The suits, filed by anonymously identified plaintiffs, reference abuse in the 1970s and 1980s linked to priests at St. Ann's Charlotte and Our Lady of Annunciation Albemarle. Each seeks damages above $25,000 amid emotions of accountability and new North Carolina civil action window.
